A key conference to discuss Urban Mobility in India…
For the 9th consecutive year, the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) is holding an Annual Conference-cum-Exhibition on urban transport. This conference is one of the important outcome of the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP) layed-down by the MoUD in 2006. The conference provides an opportunity to interact with other professionals, technology and service providers both domestic and international so that the delegates can carry home ideas to develop their urban transport along a sustainable path. The event brings under one roof technology and service providers in urban transport from India and abroad as well as policy makers, practitioners and officials.

The 9th edition of the event is now scheduled at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat during November 8 – 11, 2016.The theme of the conference is ‘Planning Mobility for City’s Sustainability’. The event will be organized by the Institute of Urban Transport (India) New Delhi on behalf of the Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India.
The Institute of Urban Transport India (IUT) was established in May, 1997 as a professional body under the purview of the Ministry of Urban Development Government of India (MOUD) as a premier professional non-profit making organization and registered under the Societies Registration Act. The objective of the Institute is to promote, encourage and coordinate the state of the art of urban transport including planning, development, operation, education, research and management.
The Ministry of Urban Development is the apex authority of Government of India at the national level to formulate policies, sponsor and support programme, coordinate the activities of various Central Ministries, State Governments and other nodal authorities and monitor the programmes concerning all the issues of urban development in the country.
